Recognizing Future Leaders in the Construction Industry

The CRMCA is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025–2026 CRMCA Scholarship. This year, the program received over 30 applications from outstanding students across North and South Carolina pursuing degrees in construction-related fields.

The CRMCA Scholarship Program is a key part of the association’s broader workforce development efforts, aimed at attracting and supporting the next generation of construction professionals. By investing in students who demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence and leadership, CRMCA continues to strengthen the talent pipeline for the concrete and construction industries across the Carolinas.

“We are inspired by the passion and potential of this year’s applicants,” said Caroline Sutton, CRMCA Executive Vice President. “These recipients represent the future of our industry, and we are proud to support their academic and professional goals.”

The 2025–2026 CRMCA Scholarship recipients are:

Micah Bell – North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University – Construction Management

“Construction has always been part of my story, inspired by my grandfather’s legacy and fueled by my own drive to lead and build. With a degree in Construction Management, I hope to run my own company and create lasting, positive impact in communities just like he did.”


Michael Cole – Wake Technical Community College – Construction Management Technology

“My hands-on experience in both home remodeling and agricultural construction sparked my passion for building with purpose. I hope is to work in construction where I can focus on quality, sustainability, and preserving the rural landscapes that shaped me.”


Ariyana Compton – North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University – Construction Management

“My goal is to build a construction company that uplifts underdeveloped communities and creates safe, welcoming homes for those in need. As a woman in a male-dominated field, I’m especially passionate about creating opportunities for other women to thrive in construction.”


William Hathcock – The Citadel – Construction Engineering

“The construction industry is a vital part in the day-to-day life of every person in our society. Someone who is passionate about leadership and innovation, I believe construction engineering is the best way for me to apply these skills and strengths. My goal is to become a leader in this industry that prioritizes quality, safety and social responsibility.”


Matthew Howard – University of North Georgia – Business/Construction Management

“My internship in Knight’s Precast introduced me to the design and production side of concrete, expanding my understanding of the industry beyond what I grew up around.”


Camden Martin – Appalachian State University – BS Construction Management/Sustainable Technology

“I am pursuing a career in Construction Management with a focus on sustainability so I can lead projects that meet the needs of both people and the planet. Inspired by the transformation of my own school, I’m excited to bring fresh ideas and a passion for greener construction to the industry.”


Scholarship winners were selected based on academic performance, career goals, leadership qualities, and their commitment to the construction industry. Each recipient will receive a financial award to support their continued education in programs that align with the mission of CRMCA and the future of the built environment.
