If Congress does not take action, the federal programs that support our nation’s highways, bridges, transit programs and rail networks will expire at the end of September.

While the House has passed a $547 billion surface reauthorization and two of three Senate committees have passed their portions of the surface bill, the package must be considered by the full Senate and then negotiated with the House of Representatives to produce a joint bill.

Time is of the essence. With just a few legislative weeks remaining before surface transportation programs expire, it is critical that the Senate act and that Congress pass a surface reauthorization.

Contact your senators and urge them to request that Senate leadership bring a surface reauthorization to the floor of the Senate and pass it.
