On Tuesday, May 5, members of the Carolinas Ready Mixed Concrete Association gathered in Columbia for a productive and collaborative meeting with the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services focused on advancing environmental stewardship across South Carolina’s concrete industry. The day provided valuable insight into new air and stormwater permitting processes, regulatory updates, and opportunities for continued partnership between industry and state leadership.

CRMCA members appreciated the open dialogue and collaborative approach demonstrated by SCDES as both organizations discussed practical ways to strengthen environmental compliance while supporting operational success for producers throughout the state. One of the most meaningful outcomes of the meeting was the development of a new industry task force that will work alongside SCDES to identify pathways for improving stormwater efforts and creating long-term solutions that benefit both the environment and the ready mixed concrete industry.

CRMCA is proud to support SCDES in its environmental initiatives and remains committed to proactive engagement, education, and industry leadership on these important issues. Special thanks to Keith Frost and the entire SCDES team for their partnership, transparency, and willingness to collaborate with our members.
