SC Legislative Update: June 2026
We are currently in a wait and see mode in Columbia regarding the budget. There has been much speculation about when the Senate and House Conference Committee will meet again to finalize a budget agreement. Current sources say that it will be after the runoff elections on June 23rd. We are told that the two sides have just a few issues they are working out and then it should be settled. There are twelve bills on the conference committee list that still must be worked out. H3021 (Small Business Regulatory Freedom Act) is a bill in conference committee that we are closely monitoring on behalf of CRMCA. They met once on Wednesday, June 10 th and will be convening again at an undecided future date.
The runoff elections continue to dominate discussions across the state. The most notable, Lt. Governor Pamela Evette and state Attorney General Alan Wilson at the top of the GOP runoff ticket. Republicans will also pick final winners in the SC attorney general’s race between Georgetown Sen. Stephen Goldinch against 8 th Circuit Solicitor David Stumbo and the Agriculture Commissioners contest between Cody Simpson and Danny Ford II. After elections are over and the budget conference committee comes to a final agreement, we will have a more robust update for members.
