On March 15th CRMCA conducted an NRMCA Pervious Concrete Certification Class in the metro area of Wilmington, NC. This class offers the opportunity for Contractors to become a Certified Pervious Technician. Attendees included contractors from 5 different companies representing both North Carolina and South Carolina. Several of the Contractors had considerable experience in Pervious Concrete and have already expressed an interest in going to the next level…becoming a Certified Pervious Installer or Certified Pervious Craftsman.
Pervious Concrete Certification is an excellent opportunity for Contractors to distinguish themselves as having achieved a recognized benchmark that indicates their dedication, motivation, and technical knowledge. In addition to that, for projects where ACI 522.1 is being enforced, being either a Certified Pervious Installer or Craftsman is a requirement…one that provides that Contractor with the ability to meet the project specifications.
I strongly encourage Contractors who intend to install pervious concrete to make the effort to become a certified Installer or Craftsman. If you have a history of and are currently installing pervious concrete projects that are successfully performing, it is a no-brainer to become certified.
The next scheduled Pervious Concrete Technician Class is July 19, 2017 in Charlotte, NC. (Click here for a link to the class information). Please contact Eric N. Johnson, P.E. at 704.717.9199 or johnson@crmca.com for additional information and how to become a Pervious Concrete Installer or Craftsman.
