The CRMCA Emerging Leaders gathered on Tuesday, August 26 and Wednesday, August 27 for another impactful session of professional development and industry engagement. The program kicked off at Clemson University, where participants joined students, industry professionals, and fellow leaders for the Concrete Career Panel. This event provided valuable insights into how STEM connects to real-world careers in concrete and construction while sparking meaningful conversations about the future of the industry.

Following the panel, the Emerging Leaders took their networking a step further with a dynamic Speed Networking session. Through rotating small-group discussions, participants exchanged ideas and perspectives on questions such as, “What is the best piece of advice you have ever received to apply to your career?” and “In your current role, what do you consider to be your expertise?” These candid conversations not only built stronger connections but also allowed participants to reflect on their own professional journeys and learn from peers across the industry.

On Wednesday, the program shifted into a full day of leadership development and education. Sessions included Communication – Working Effectively with Others and Being an Effective Leader, with engaging breakout groups and collaborative brainstorming activities woven throughout the day. The agenda encouraged participants to explore their leadership styles, practice effective communication strategies, and work together on solutions that can be applied directly to their roles within the concrete industry.

This two-day program fostered both personal and professional growth, strengthening the skills of our future leaders while continuing to build a strong, connected network of industry professionals.
