The CRMCA recently celebrated the conclusion of its 2025 Emerging Leaders Program with a memorable Lowcountry boat tour aboard The Osprey in Isle of Palms South Carolina. Surrounded by fellow members and scenic coastal views, participants enjoyed a relaxed opportunity to connect, reflect on their shared experiences, and celebrate the year’s accomplishments together.

Before relaxing with fellow CRMCA members on the sunset boat tour, The Emerging Leaders had the opportunity to tour Quikrete’s Harleyville facility, gaining an inside look at one of the region’s leading producers of packaged concrete and cement products. The guided tour provided a firsthand view of modern production processes, safety protocols, and sustainability practices that help shape today’s concrete supply chain. For many, the visit offered valuable perspective on how innovation and efficiency intersect in manufacturing, further deepening their understanding of the industry they represent. Thank you to Quikcrete for giving this group an inside look of your plant.

Following the boat excursion, the group gathered for their final professional development session, focused on “Coaching For Growth.” This engaging training explored strategies for enhanced communication and team development, all key elements in cultivating strong leadership within the ready mixed concrete industry.

The day concluded with a Local Leaders Panel that brought valuable insight and inspiration from some of the Carolinas’ most respected industry leaders. Panelists included Shawn Baker of S&W Ready Mix Concrete Company, LLC, Henry Batten of Concrete Supply Company, John Bryson of Southern Concrete Materials, Henry Martin of Thomas Concrete, Inc., and Pete Knight of Knight’s Redi-Mix. Each shared personal experiences and advice on leadership, innovation, and collaboration, underscoring the importance of developing emerging professionals who will continue driving the industry forward.

CRMCA congratulates the 2025 Emerging Leaders cohort for their dedication, engagement, and growth throughout the program. A special thank-you to the companies who supported their team members’ participation. Your commitment to developing future leaders is vital to the continued strength and advancement of the ready mixed concrete industry across the Carolinas.
