Activity Updates

South Carolina DHEC has put out for public comment potential changes to batch plants.  DHEC reached out to CRMCA and Caroline Sutton in March to have our comments included prior to the public period and once again in June.  CRMCA provided information to the agency which based their recommendations around our concerns from the association.  CRMCA has been working with other associations which have concerns over the potential new regs to ensure our concerns are taken in to account and that groups like the Carolina AGC’s are aware of concerns.  The public comment period is currently open.

Governor Henry McMaster will be joined by Lieutenant Governor Pamela S. Evette and members of AccelerateSC for a meeting to discuss recommendations for investing funds from the American Rescue Plan.  These dollars will need to be appropriated by the General Assembly when they return.  It is expected that they will take up these dollars in September or October.

The SCDHEC advisory committee which is tasked with dealing with S2 the dhec reform bill has continued to meet as they are trying to determine the best path forward for the agency.  At this time they have not come up with a recommendation for the General Assembly and meetings will continue thru the summer.
