Plant Safety Awards

Plant Safety Awards are presented in three categories: Gold, Silver & Bronze. These awards provide recognition for plants that are truly perfect, as well as those who compare favorably against the Incidence Frequency Rate (IFR), a standard industry safety benchmark. Carolina Ready Mix and Builders Supply, Inc., Chandler Concrete, S&W Ready Mixed Concrete Company, Southern Concrete Materials and Thomas Concrete all exhibited the highest of safety standards the 2023 Plant Safety Award Winners.

Environmental Excellence Winners

The Environmental Excellence Award is presented to CRMCA producer member plants that have best demonstrated environmental excellence and innovative management.
The purpose of these Environmental Awards is to recognize CRMCA Producer Members who:
• Make outstanding contributions to preserving and protecting the environment.
• Provide environmental leadership for the ready mixed concrete industry.
• Maintain sound environmental management practices in their operations.
• Install state-of-the-art environmental equipment and/or implement environmentally friendly plant procedures.

SAFE DRIVER OF THE YEAR

As the current Safety Champion for his plant in Kinston, NC, he was as the overall Safety Champion for S&W and was subsequently chosen from over 1000 concrete delivery professionals, as the Safety Champion of their parent company Titan America. Our recognized driver has been in the industry for over 35 years and in all that time, he has not had a single at-fault vehicle accident or injury and works hard to set a good example for all his coworkers, especially the new employees. He is always in his proper uniform, setting the standard for PPE compliance and professionalism. In all of the years working in Kinston, he has performed just about every job there is in this industry.

2023 CRMCA Hall of Fame Inductee

CRMCA is pleased to induct Dan O’Shaughnessey into the CRMCA Hall of Fame. O’Shaughnessey was the CRMCA President from 1996 to 1997 and was an advocate for the Ready Mixed Concrete Industry throughout his career at Metromont Materials.
