The 2nd Annual CRMCA Mixer Driver Championship is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2009. The Competition is sponsored by the Carolinas Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s Fleet Maintenance
Committee. The contest format and rules are the same as that used at the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s National Mixer Driver Championship.
The competition was developed to recognize those individuals with exceptional ability that deliver the world’s most versatile building product.
Guidelines:
- CRMCA Members may enter two drivers from each state (NC and SC) in the competition.
- Registration deadline will be Friday, March 6, 2009.
- Entry Fee $50 per driver.
- Winners from each state will receive the following cash prizes:
First Place $750.00
Second Place $500.00
Third Place $250.00
CRMCA winners from companies that are also NRMCA members and meet eligibility requirements are eligible to compete in the NRMCA National Mixer Driver Championship to be held in St. Louis in October, 2009.
Drivers will begin their competition with a written exam on Friday, April 24, 2009 from 4:00 - 5:00pm. The Fish Fry for contestants and their families kicks off at 6:00pm. Drivers will receive “official” T-shirts at the Fish Fry. Written exam questions will be obtained from the NRMCA Concrete Delivery Professional Certification Program. Results of the written exams will be made available to all contestants along with correct exam answers.
Mixer Driver Championship Instructions will begin Saturday morning at 7:00am. Contestants should wear their “official” T-shirts and their own company hat during the event. Mixer Drivers will perform a visual inspection of a Mixer intended to simulate the pre-trip inspection these drivers perform daily. Then it’s time to hit the parking lot with a spectacular challenge course.
Drivers will accumulate points in all three categories (written exam, visual inspection and challenge course) to compile their final scores.

7:00am Driver Check-In and MDC Instructions (location TBA)
7:30am Drivers perform Visual Inspection & hit the Challenge Course
11:30am Rodeo Competition rounds up with lunch for contestants and their families/guests
Sponsorship of this event will be available at three levels, Platinum ($500), Gold ($250) and Silver ($100). In addition to the large Banner listing all sponsors that will be displayed at both events, CRMCA Member Sponsors may bring their own tabletop display for the Driver Competition if they so desire.
