Committees

handshake.gifBelow is a brief description of each of our Committees. CRMCA members are welcome to join and participate in all CRMCA Committees listed below. To find out more or to apply for Committee membership please contact us directly by clicking here.

Concrete Education Council (CEC) Chapters
The CRMCA currently has ten local CEC Chapters in North and South Carolina that meet on a monthly basis. The Chapters are as follows: South Carolina -Piedmont; Midlands; Grandstrand; and Low Country; North Carolina - Triangle; East Carolina; Triad; Charlotte; Sand Hills; and West Carolina. Environmental Committee
The Environmental Committee meets on a quarterly basis at the CRMCA Headquarters. The Committee retains William C. Twitty, Jr. PE as a consultant. The Committee sponsors CRMCA Environmental Forums each year in North and South Carolina as well as the Environmental Excellence and Environmental Improvement Awards. Representatives of this Committee meet on a regular basis with members of the North Carolina Department of Natural Resources (NCDENR) as well as members of the South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control (SCDHEC).

North Carolina Legislative Committee
The North Carolina Legislative Committee is charged with monitoring proposed legislation in North Carolina to identify legislation which may impact the concrete industry. The Committee retains Mac Boxley of Boxley, Bolton and Garber to assist with their efforts. The committee meets at the discretion of its Chair.

Program and Planning Committee
The Program and Planning Committee meets twice a year to plan the yearly Convention and Fall Workshop. The committee membership is comprised of the Chairs of all standing CRMCA committees and the CRMCA Executive Vice president, William Arent. CRMCA members are encouraged to submit topics and or speakers to the Committee for program consideration at the annual Fall Workshop or Summer Convention.

Safety and Human Resources Committee
The Safety and Human Resources Committee meets on the first Wednesday of every other month at CRMCA Headquarters. The Association retains R. F. "Bob" Bozart of Safety Services of America, Inc. as a consultant to this Committee. This Committee sponsors the annual Safe Driver Award and Plant Safety Awards.

South Carolina Legislative Committee
The South Carolina Legislative Committee is charged with monitoring proposed legislation in South Carolina to identify legislation which may impact the concrete industry. The Committee retains the McNair Law Firm to assist with their efforts. The committee meets at the discretion of its Chair.

Technical Committee
The Technical Committee meets quarterly at CRMCA Headquarters. Representatives of this Committee meet on a regular basis with both the SCDOT and NCDOT to discuss issues of mutual concern. The Committee also addresses technical concerns of the membership and provides technical articles for the CRMCA quarterly newsletter.
